With the new financial year underway, it’s a time where companies take stock and start to implement strategies and business plans that focus on growth and development.  Budgets have been settled and motivations are high to make this financial year a success and to build upon previous hard work and achievements.

Confidence

The last financial year was clearly one of the most disrupted and challenging in recent memory, but with the recent budgets and stimulus packages focussing on design and construction, there is an unprecedented level of investment in our sector.

Although we are currently under fairly harsh restrictions in NSW, and further snap lockdowns are happening in most other states, the positives that this has shown us are that consultancies have learnt the lessons of 18 months ago and have quickly and easily adapted to working from home and this has happened seamlessly.

The difference between this and the last lockdown is that there is more knowledge and certainty about project pipelines, the continuation of spending in our sector and the fact that jobs are there that need to be delivered; both now and in the near future.

This has meant that many are still looking to hire and to keep pushing ahead with their strategic growth plans.

Opportunities

As a result, I am working closely with a number of consultancies from large global tier 1’s through to smaller specialists who are all looking to secure the best talent to add to their existing teams.
